Special Day

an xciting beginning to march , the weather has changed for the good !!

not that cold right now here in Nananimo, hopefully the spring is gonna be as beautiful as everyone claims , they say Nanaimo has the best summers one can think of to go kayaking, trekking , water sports etc etc cant wait any longer .

working on 3 group projects for school and im throughly enjoying it , have got amazing groups to work on , and i love it .

study sessions, group meetings . coffee and books all is so much fun ....

but at the same time i miss being home , my dad has gone to mecca for a month and my mom and my sis are back home alone ........ its not that its the first time they are alone but its a little special this time , my sister will soon be getting engaged in this month as its a great proposal from a guy of our community ( arranged marriage ) so i wish i could be there with my sister and mom . dad will soon be back on the 13th and will make all the arrangements need for it .

i was always so excited for this day but unfortunately i cud not be there side of her on this very important day of her life :(

i wish her all the best for this new beginning

we even went out for a nice greek dining experience which was great and we had a great time together ....... it was the first time when majority tam Saturday showed up we had great fun missed the remaining who could not make it due to some circumstances ..........

to have our profs to be with us during such occasions is so amazing , i loved it have never seen this back home. we had our accounting professor and the marketing professor with us for this Greek experience

the food was nice, i eaten greek foood before Fava is my pick , though we did try something new where i liked the Tzatziki the most.

It worked as an energizer between the busy writing and book reading sessions

March is Here ..........

march is here , its been 2 months that im here in canada and its going good so far , ive got well into the life here. more familiar with stuff and getting use the cold weather here .....

February was good and went fast not because it has less number of days specially because we were all so busy and occupied with our work.

we did take out time for collective group activities like a bunch of us met daily in school to complete our team projects for accounting and effective management .

the next was when we again met as a group thing on a sunday evening .........as othman decided the venue and for most of the guys it was boring , we called it othaman's cat funeral .........lol

it was fun and we spend quality time together ....

Social activity II- Venue - Oxy Downtown Nanaimo

We all met again at oxy (i guess nobody knows a better place here !)

it was fun , we all were quite in mood and were looking for a big long break from school but honestly i dont like these big holidays as i dont have much to do alone at home....

this week was different i kinda liked it as i had 1000+3000+3000 words report to be written for 3 different courses and all had a target deadline including 2 internship assignments and a lot to study .

for our accountind project me, othman , tabita and teresa have decided to meet in school and finish the written report together as we all lack accounting expertise ...........thanks to them to accompany me in the break and not leaving me alone .

have done writing 2 of my reports so far so i need to work only on one and have 2 days with me ......wow

had plans like going skiing and swimming to the aquatic centre but all went to the thrash as im busy writing these long reports.

THIS IS IT

MBA is what i wanted to always do , irrespective of no reason i had to do it .

did not even know what an MBA Is suppose to do , whats the job like , does he make money ?

or its just some lame profession .

never ever was so keen in my abba's business a huge garment retail store in the heart of the city ,exciting foot falls still .

with time i learned about th business management when met a distant cousin working in fiat (then) so much pride , a great personality , everyone in the family looked up to him ..... i was highly impressed and knew thats something i would certainly like to do , and make my parents proud.

with time met 100's of 1000's of MBA's but no one was as perfect as i though i would be when i do my MBA . MBA was not just some degree of paper it had become my major objective and aim in life .

started preparing for the top MBA entrance exams , mock tests, test serious , morning tuition i did it all ...........

had n number of calls from premier institutions for interview but something or the other made me stop as i was waiting for some sign to make me realize and say THIS IS IT .

applied to leeds, middlesex , curtain , uclan and many more but was not sure of my fate and nothing materialized

dont even remember exactly how i filled the application for VIU , but once the unconditional offer letter arrived i knew it ...............yes THIS IS IT

Why is it called the Reading Break .....?

A long awaited weekend and a big break attached ............is this is what i really want ?

glad that my team members agreed to meet everyday and shall work on our group projects and utilize this time .

last week has been a good week , where some parts of the world seems to undergo revolution and i am busy making up my own resolutions .

Trying to bring out the best in me, 50 days are quite enough for someone to settle breath in one new place so its high time i leave that excuse of being new here and consider my self accustomed to things.

School is going great and i m happy with my decision of choosing VIU and planned to shift ........its all worth it ....... its for me learning at its best .

i am working on things i have never worked on and doing things whole heartedly.

like writing regular blogs , reading before class which i seldom did , writing 1000, 2000 , 3000 articles which i thought would be painstaking but i am enjoying all that

last week made an ad for the marketing class which was targeted to north american men , gave me an insight to bring the creative best in me .......

and after i saw the best 7 ads from the class i realised it wasn't the best piece of work but as i always say its a part of the learning process and im learning.

THE FIRST UNOFFICIAL BUSINESS MIXER

we had all the 3 classes present with the majority being from Team Saturday (MBA S11N72).....

After the bad scores and grades it was really important for me to went my frustration , so what better way then being with friends at a local pub ...

My first Karaoke in canada ........it was great and mind-boggling ................thanks marco and tabitha to organize this event i met people from the other classes and we discusses our journey so far at the MBA ............I am happy we have some great professors and i feel lucky .

exam time , assignment deadline and project work i almost feel like im working for one of the corporates , so much fun and quite taxing , economics test and global context text just got over with them , and such a bad performance feels terrible i wish i do much better in the coming exams never got a " c " before .......but i guess its worth an experience as it has given me the kick to do much better in the coming months and the rest of my tests . " c " grade is where my blog title has come from this week let us c ........

the last two week i could not write as of the bad shoulder and had no access to the computer and was really going to a low time ,,,,, this results took me by storm .

but i thank othman , Teresa , Tabitha and Juan to support me and motivated me ...........love u guys

i love the Thursday class as we all do our journals and come and discuss our assessment scores and discuss our strengths and weaknesses ...and then relate our personalities with the text book concepts like the one we had last week taking about communication and solving problems .......i came out to be advising along with 5 others from our class where as 23 guys were Deflecting in their communication style strange but true .................thats real learning u disjoint to your belief and come close to reality and facts .

i promise myself to get better and regular with writing blogs and hopefully perform better in the forth coming exams .......

i love doing it , as i used to write a dairy in my college days but i no longer continue it as its hard to keep those dairies hiding it from everyone ....

working on my first article : Business in India for the Global context class was a lot fun , read a lot , skimmed a lot and finally made a good draft ...............but more time was taken by the Referencing as it was my first written work for my MBA ,,,,,,,I even visited the writing support for a proof reading .........it was of great help .

my article came out well Acc to me hope the proff liked it toooo ..... keeping my fingers crossed

The economics and the Global Context test is next week ooops in two days i mean , had 5 combine study sessions i think its all to do with the learning , unlearn relearn process .........im happy to be with these guys they are so helpful and warm .....

Mathias has been the best so far with economics study session and has helped the whole class with our difficulties .... thanks mathias

i had almost seen two sunsets and was still flying to reach nanaimo...........never knew such a place existed during my geography classes in high school .

welcome to nanaimo .......dukepoint ferry terminal 5:30 PM it looked like it was midnight , damn cold and the welcome shower i mean the drizzle thanks to vinnie (online friend ) for picking me up and thankful to him as he hosted me till i got a place for myself .

house hunting was not that difficult thanks to craiglist and viu-housing services .

finally moved to my new apartment on the 1st wooooo what a new beginning to the new year , i like this place just because it is so close to the viu .

4th jan 2010 a day that i have been waiting for since long .........a day when i would finish the border line of a graduate tag and say im Pgrad student ..............feels nice

I was feeling great to be in there between people of 11 different countries and it was something i would always remember

i have people from , Canada , Morocco , Venezuela , Tibet , china , Libya , India , Columbia , Mexico , Russia , and Nigeria .

About a century or two ago, the Pope decided that all the Sikhs had to
leave Italy .

Naturally there was a big uproar from the Sikh community.

So the Pope made a deal.

He would have a religious debate with a member of the Sikh community.

If the Sikh won, the Sikhs could stay.

If the Pope won, the Sikhs would leave.

The Sikhs realized that they had no choice.

So they picked a middle-aged man named Harbinder Singh to represent them.

Harbinder asked for one condition to the debate - neither side would be allowed to talk.

The Pope agreed.

The day of the great debate came.

Harbinder Singh and the Pope sat opposite each other for a full minute.

Then the Pope raised his hand and showed three fingers.

Harbinder looked back at him and raised one finger.

The Pope waved his fingers in a circle around his head.

Harbinder pointed to the ground where he sat.

The Pope pulled out a wafer and a glass of wine.

Harbinder pulled out an apple.

The Pope stood up and said,

"I give up. This man is too good. The Sikhs can stay."



An hour later, the cardinals were gathered around the Pope asking him what had happened.

The Pope said, "First I held up three fingers to represent the Holy Trinity.

He responded by holding up one finger to remind me that there was still One God common to both our religions.

Then, I waved my finger around me to show him that God was all around us.

He responded by pointing to the ground and showing that God was also right here with us.

Then, I pulled out the wine and wafer to show that God absolves us from our sins.

He pulled out an apple to remind me of original sin.

He had an answer for everything. What could I do?"



Meanwhile, the Sikh community had crowded around Harbinder Singh.

"What happened?" they asked.

"Well," said Harbinder, "First he said to me that the Sikhs had three days to get out of here.

I told him not one of us was leaving.

Then he told me that this whole city would be cleared of Sikhs.

I let him know that we were staying right here."

"Yes, and then???" asked the crowd.

"I don't know", said Harbinder, "He took out his lunch, and I took out mine!"
